Easy No-Knead Bread
- 2 c. flour
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 c. water
- 1 c. milk
- 1/4 c. cooking oil
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 egg
- butter (to brush on baked loaf)
- Combine first 4 dry ingredients in a large mixer bowl.
- Heat next 3 ingredients in a saucepan over low heat until warm.
- Add egg and warm liquid to combined flour mixture.
- Blend at lowest speed until moistened, then beat 3 minutes at medium speed.
- By hand, stir in another 2 1/2 cups flour to form a stiff batter. Cover dough; let rise in a warm place until light and doubled. Stir dough down; spoon into greased 9 x 5-inch loaf pan or 2-quart deep round casserole.
- Bake at 375u0b0 for 45 to 50 minutes or until loaf sounds hollow when tapped.
- Remove immediately; brush with butter.
