Fudge Brownies
- 1 c. shortening
- 4 (1 oz.) sq. unsweetened chocolate
- 1 box brown sugar
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. chopped pecans
- commercial fudge sauce
- 1 (7 oz.) can Reddi-Whip whipped topping
- Combine shortening and chocolate in top of a double boiler; bring water to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low; cook until chocolate melts.
- Add sugar, stirring well.
- Add eggs and vanilla; stir well.
- Stir in flour and salt and mix thoroughly.
- Remove chocolate mixture from heat and stir in pecans.
- Spread batter into a well-greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
- Bake at 400u0b0 for 20 minutes.
- Cool; cut into squares.
- Serve with fudge sauce and whipped topping.
- Makes about 3 dozen.
