Strawberry Angel Food Dessert

  1. Dissolve Jell-O in 1 1/2 cups boiling water (if using pineapple, use juice to make up enough water).
  2. Stir in strawberries (frozen or thawed) or drained pineapple, sugar and salt.
  3. Cool until it begins to thicken.
  4. Fold in whipped cream or Cool Whip.
  5. Cover bottom of bowl or pan with torn angel cake.
  6. Pour half of Jell-O mixture over cake.
  7. Repeat with a layer of cake and rest of Jell-O mixture.
  8. Refrigerate until firm.
  9. When firm, spread Cool Whip over top and decorate with strawberries or walnuts.
