Sioux City Baked Steak Recipe
- 1 sirloin steak, 3" thick
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 c. catsup
- 3 tbsp. Worcestershire
- 1/2 c. melted butter
- 1 tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 1 (4 ounce.) can mushrooms
- 1 lg. Bermuda onion
- Preheat broiler - place steak n shallow pan.
- Broil close to flame.
- Brown both sides.
- Remove.
- Set oven at 350 degrees.
- Season meat with salt and pepper.
- Combine catsup, Worcestershire, butter, lemon, garlic and mushrooms.
- Spread over meat.
- Arrange onions on top.
- Bake uncovered 1/2 hour for rare, little longer for medium.
- Cut meat diagonally into thin slices.
- Serves 6-8.
