Braised Sirloin Tips

  1. Cut steak into 1-inch cubes.
  2. Brown meat on all sides in a large heavy skillet.
  3. When meat is browned evenly, add consomme, wine/juice, soy sauce, garlic, and onion powder.
  4. Heat to boiling.
  5. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer 45 minutes1 hour or until meat is tender.
  6. Blend corn starch and water.
  7. Stir gradually into the meat mixture.
  8. Cook, stirring constantly until gravy thickens and boils.
  9. Cook 1 minute longer.
  10. Serve over rice.
