Poppy Seed Sandwich Spread

  1. Melt butter in a microwave-safe bowl.
  2. Chop onion.
  3. I prefer finely chopped Vidalia sweet onions, but the chop and onion-type are up to your personal preference.
  4. =) Add onion to melted butter.
  5. Stir in mustard (this is the regular liquid table mustard, not powdered) and poppy seeds.
  6. Spread over deli meat and cheese of your choice on a roll and toast for 5 minutes in the oven, if you like.
  7. I recommend ham and provolone on an Amoroso club roll (a crisp, chewy, sandwich-sized roll native to Philly).
  8. These are so delicious and easy, whether youre making a quick lunch for yourself at home or hosting a casual get-together.
  9. You can also use this spread for pretty much anything else, of course: on top of a ham and egg breakfast sandwich, on warm dinner rolls, cracker spread, etc.
