Poppy Seed Sandwich Spread
- 1/2 cups Butter, Melted (1 Stick)
- 2 Tablespoons Onion, grated
- 2 Tablespoons Mustard
- 1 Tablespoon Poppy Seeds
- Deli Meats, Cheeses And Rolls (optional)
- Melt butter in a microwave-safe bowl.
- Chop onion.
- I prefer finely chopped Vidalia sweet onions, but the chop and onion-type are up to your personal preference.
- =) Add onion to melted butter.
- Stir in mustard (this is the regular liquid table mustard, not powdered) and poppy seeds.
- Spread over deli meat and cheese of your choice on a roll and toast for 5 minutes in the oven, if you like.
- I recommend ham and provolone on an Amoroso club roll (a crisp, chewy, sandwich-sized roll native to Philly).
- These are so delicious and easy, whether youre making a quick lunch for yourself at home or hosting a casual get-together.
- You can also use this spread for pretty much anything else, of course: on top of a ham and egg breakfast sandwich, on warm dinner rolls, cracker spread, etc.
