Crispy Breaded Tilapia
- 1/4 cup oil, divided
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 can (14.5 oz.) diced tomatoes with basil, garlic and oregano, undrained
- 1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
- 2 Tbsp. balsamic vinegar
- 1/4 cup KRAFT Grated Parmesan Cheese
- 1/4 cup dry Italian-style bread crumbs
- 1 egg
- 4 tilapia fillets (1 lb.) Walmart Supercenter 1 pkg For $10.98 thru 02/14
- Heat 2 Tbsp.
- oil in medium saucepan on medium heat.
- Add onions; cook 3 to 5 min.
- or until tender, stirring frequently.
- Add tomatoes, tomato sauce and vinegar; stir.
- Bring to boil; simmer on low heat 10 min., stirring occasionally.
- Meanwhile, combine cheese and bread crumbs in pie plate.
- Beat egg in separate pie plate.
- Dip fish in egg, then in cheese mixture, turning to evenly coat both sides of each fillet.
- Heat remaining oil in large skillet on medium heat.
- Add fish; cook 3 min.
- on each side or until fish is golden brown on both sides and flakes easily with fork.
- Serve fish topped with tomato mixture.
