Lemon-Frosted Fig Bars

  1. Heat oven to 350F.
  2. Combine 1/2 cup butter and brown sugar in bowl.
  3. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy.
  4. Add molasses, milk and eggs; continue beating until well mixed.
  5. Add flour, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  6. Beat at low speed until well mixed.
  7. Stir in figs and walnuts.
  8. Spread batter into greased 13x9-inch baking pan.
  9. Bake 22-27 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  10. Cool completely.
  11. Combine all frosting ingredients except lemon juice in small bowl.
  12. Beat at low speed, adding enough lemon juice for desired spreading consistency.
  13. Frost cooled bars.
  14. Cut into bars.
  15. Sprinkle with grated lemon zest, if desired.
