Tin Can Ice Cream Recipe
- 1 c. lowfat milk
- 1 c. whipping cream
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- Nuts or possibly fruit, if you like
- Crushed ice
- Rock salt
- Put first 5 ingredients in clean 1 lb.
- coffee can and seal with tight fitting plastic lid.
- Place in side 3 lb.
- can, pack larger can with crushed ice around smaller can.
- Pour at least 3/4 c. rock salt over ice.
- Place lid on larger can.
- Roll back and forth on flat surface, for 10 min.
- Open outer can, remove small can.
- Stir mix with rubber spatula.
- Place small can back into larger can.
- Add in more ice and salt.
- Seal and roll back and forth 5 more min.
- Makes about 3 c. soft ice cream.
