Bread Machine Bagels Recipe

  1. Place ingredients in bread machine, use dough setting, when setting completed remove dough from pan (if not using a bread machine, knead dough for 5 min and let rise in hot place).
  2. Place dough on lightly floured surface.
  3. Punch and knead for 5-10 min till smooth.
  4. Cut into 5 equal pcs.
  5. From each piece form a ball and make ahole in each using your thumbs.
  6. Stretch till smooth and hole is about 1 inch.
  7. Place bagels on greased baking sheet and let rise covered for 10 min.
  8. Heat oven to 400F, boil 6 c. of water in a large saucepan or possibly skillet.
  9. Cook bagels 2 at the time for 3 min turning once.
  10. Place bagels on greased sheet.
  11. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with favorite toppings.
  12. Bake at 400F for 20-25 min till deep golden.
  13. Cold on a wire rack.
