Ersatz Thai-fried Noodles
- 1 lb chinese noodles
- 14 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 14 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 chicken breasts, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 tablespoon sugar (or equivalent artificial sweetener)
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup
- 2 -3 green onions, chopped
- 12 teaspoon tamari soy sauce
- 4 ounces peanuts or 4 ounces cashews, coarsely chopped
- 12 cup fresh cilantro, chopped (or equivalent dried cilantro)
- 1 ( ) bean sprouts (or other vegetable sprouts)
- thin lemon slice
- Prepare noodles according to package directions, and set aside.
- Heat oil and saute chicken until cooked.
- Add garlic, sugar, ketchup, onions and tamari sauce.
- Using chopsticks or two forks, mix the chicken and noodles, and then add the peanuts or cashews and cilantro.
- Garnish with sprouts and lemon.
