Old Fashioned Bread Pudding

  1. Preheat oven to 325u0b0.
  2. Butter and toast bread.
  3. Cut into cubes and place in greased 13 x 9-inch baking dish.
  4. Sprinkle raisins over toast if desired.
  5. Thoroughly beat eggs, 1/2 cup sugar, salt, evaporated milk, boiling water and vanilla.
  6. Pour mixture over toast and let stand 10 minutes.
  7. Combine remaining 4 teaspoons of sugar and cinnamon.
  8. Sprinkle over toast.
  9. Place dish in shallow baking pan of water to a depth of 1 inch.
  10. Bake 60 to 65 minutes until done.
  11. Remove dish from pan of water and serve warm or chilled.
  12. Serves 8.
