Green Tomato Pickles

  1. Combine green tomatoes, onions, green pepper red pepper and sprinkle lightly with pickling salt.
  2. Let stand 3 hours.
  3. Drain and rinse.
  4. Add: vinegar, sugar and
  5. brown sugar.
  6. Place in cheese cloth bag and add to above the following: cloves, cinnamon sticks, mustard seed and
  7. allspice. Bring vegetable and syrup slowly to boil.
  8. Reduce heat and cook slowly about 1 hour.
  9. Seal in sterilized jars.
