Sesame Hummus Dip

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Saute chickpeas (drain them first!)
  3. with garlic over medium low/medium heat for about 10 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, cut up slices of French bread (or sourdough, or whatever you prefer) and arrange on a baking sheet.
  5. Brush generously with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic salt.
  6. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Transfer sauteed chickpeas and garlic to a bowl and add lemon juice (add more to taste if desired).
  8. Mash with a fork or potato masher and add olive oil and sesame oil.
  9. Add garlic salt to taste and continue mashing until you have a thick paste.
  10. Add red pepper flakes for a lovely little kick.
  11. Spread dip on toasted bread.
