Baked Taco Casserole
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 2 (14.5 oz.) cans chili tomatoes, diced with chili spices
- 3 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
- 8 to 10 slices Velveeta cheese (lite works good!)
- 1 (10.5 oz.) bag original Fritos corn chips
- shredded lettuce
- diced fresh tomato
- taco sauce
- sour half and half
- Brown ground beef.
- Drain.
- Add the packet of taco seasoning and mix well.
- Pour in the chili tomatoes and stir together.
- In a 9 x 13-inch pan, layer 1/2 of the hamburger/tomato mixture, 1/2 bag of the Fritos, 1/2 of the Velveeta cheese slices, 1/2 of the shredded cheese.
- Now put another layer of remaining hamburger/tomato mixture and the rest of the cheese.
- (Reserve the 1/2 bag of Fritos for after casserole is baked.)
- Bake for about 30 minutes in a 350u0b0 oven.
- Remove from oven and put the remaining Fritos on casserole.
- Serve hot.
