My Mom's Game-Day Chili
- 2 lb ground beef, browned and drained
- 2 can kidney beans, drained (15oz cans)
- 2 can chili beans, NOT drained (15oz cans)
- 2 can sliced black olives, drained (2.25oz cans)
- 2 can diced green chiles, NOT drained (4oz cans)
- 4 can tomato sauce (15oz cans)
- 2 can tomato paste (6oz cans)
- 1 carrots, shredded
- 1 green bell pepper, shredded
- 1 dried minced onion
- 1 chili powder
- 1 paprika
- 1 cumin
- 1 shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 sour cream
- 1 diced onions
- Combine all "Into the Pot" ingredients either in a large soup pot or a large crockpot.
- Add "*TO TASTE* Into the Pot" ingredients according to your preferences.
- If using a soup pot, bring to a boil, them simmer (low heat) for a while until it tastes good.
- If using a crockpot, you can cook it on high for a few hours or on low for most of the day.
- I set out topping options for folks to top their individual servings.
- I always serve mine with buttered cornbread and a big salad.
- This recipe is easily cut in half if you're just making it for dinner for your family :-)
