Conga Bars
- 2 14 cups unsifted all-purpose flour
- 2 12 teaspoons baking powder
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 34 cup unsalted butter (1 1/2 sticks) or 34 cup margarine, at room temperature (1 1/2 sticks)
- 1 (16 ounce) box light-brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 (6 ounce) package chocolate chips
- 14 cup coarsely chopped nuts (such as walnuts or pecans)
- 12 cup sifted confectioners' sugar
- 1 12-3 teaspoons milk
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Lightly grease a 13x9x2-inch baking pan.
- Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt onto a sheet of waxed paper.
- Beat together butter and brown sugar in a large bowl until well blended.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- On low speed, gradually beat in the flour mixture until blended.
- Beat in the vanilla.
- Stir in the chocolate chips and nuts.
- Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared pan.
- Bake in 350 degree oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Meanwhile, prepare the Glaze: Whisk together confectioners' sugar and enough milk in a small bowl until smooth and good drizzling consistency.
- Cover; set aside.
- When cookie is COMPLETELY cooled, drizzle with glaze.
- Let stand until glaze hardens.
- Cut into bars.
