Cornbread Dressing For 25
- 6 c. cornbread crumbs
- 8 c. bread crumbs
- 1 tsp. sage
- 1 Tbsp. poultry seasoning
- 2 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 5 ribs celery, chopped
- 1 lb. onions, chopped
- 1 small bell pepper, chopped
- 10 large eggs
- 2 Tbsp. black pepper
- 1 c. melted margarine
- 3 c. milk
- approximately 2 qt. rich turkey broth (as needed)
- Saute onions, celery and bell pepper in margarine until soft. Mix bread crumbs with all spices, salt and baking powder.
- Beat eggs in mixer until light and foamy.
- Add milk to eggs.
- Mix together dry ingredients and sauteed vegetables.
- Add milk-egg mixture.
- Add broth until dressing is soupy.
- Pour into baking pan and dribble melted butter over top.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 1 hour.
