Five Bean Casserole
- 1 (16 oz.) can each: pork and beans, cut green beans and yellow wax beans
- 1 (16 oz.) can kidney beans
- 1 (16 oz.) can green lima beans
- 1 lb. hot pork sausage
- 2 medium chopped onions
- 4 strips bacon
- 1 c. chopped celery
- 1 can condensed tomato soup
- 2 Tbsp. prepared mustard
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 1 small can tomato paste
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
- Drain beans and put in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch casserole.
- Brown sausage in skillet over medium heat. Remove sausage and drain grease, reserving a small amount in skillet.
- Return skillet to heat and add onions and celery; cook, stirring occasionally.
- When onions are transparent, add undiluted soup, mustard, sugar and chili powder.
- Bring to a boil and remove from heat.
- Stir sausage and skillet mixture into beans.
- Spread tomato paste over top and place bacon strips on top.
- Bake 1 1/2 hours and serve hot.
- Great at barbecues.
