Peanutty Snickerdoodle Bars
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup Land O Lakes Butter, softened
- 1 Land O Lakes Egg
- 1/2 cup coarsely chopped peanuts
- 1 tablespoons coarse grain sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Green coarse decorator sugar or edible glitter, if desired
- Heat oven to 350F.
- Grease and flour 13x9-inch baking pan; set aside.
- Combine flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt in bowl; set aside.
- Combine 3/4 cup sugar and butter in another bowl.
- Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed.
- Add egg, continue beating until well mixed.
- Add flour mixture; beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed.
- Press dough onto bottom of prepared pan.
- Combine peanuts, 1 tablespoon course sugar and cinnamon in bowl.
- Sprinkle over dough.
- Gently press peanuts into dough.
- Bake 15-17 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean and bars are golden brown.
- Sprinkle with green decorator sugar, if desired.
- Cool completely.
- Cut into bars.
