Bratten's Clam Chowder Recipe
- 2 (6 ounce.) cans clams
- 1 c. celery (minced)
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 quart. half and half
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1 c. minced onions
- 2 c. finely minced potatoes
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Pepper to taste
- Drain juice from clams and pour over vegetables in saucepan; add in sufficient water to barely cover and simmer about 20 min.
- Heat butter, add in flour and blend or possibly cook a minute or possibly two.
- Add in half and half and cook.
- Stir till smooth and thick.
- Use wire whip to blend.
- Add in liquid removed vegetables, clams and heat.
- Season.
