Sweet and Spicy Pork Chops
- 6 whole Pork Chops, 1/2-inch Thick
- 2 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil Or Olive Oil
- 1 whole Sliced Medium Onion
- 1 Tablespoon Salt
- 1 Tablespoon Pepper
- 1 Tablespoon Garlic Powder
- 23 cups Ketchup
- 1 can (1 Lb. Can) Diced Tomatoes
- 1/2 teaspoons Dried Oregano (or Italian Seasoning)
- Brown chops in oil in a skillet (the original recipe called for shortening).
- Add onion toward the end of the browning time.
- Season chops well with the salt, pepper and garlic powder (amounts listed are estimates only).
- Combine ketchup, tomatoes and oregano and pour over chops in the skillet.
- Cover and simmer for approximately 55 minutes, basting occasionally or until tender.
- Serve with buttered noodles or over rice.
