Grilled BBQ MacRib Burgers
- 1 pound ground pork (with 15 to 20 % fat)
- 2 tsp Tom's bbq house rub, recipe attached below
- 1/2 cup bbq sauce (homemade, recipe attached below or store bought)
- 4 buns
- Tom's BBQ House Rub
- Homemade bbq sauce.
- Mix the ingredients well and refrigerate until needed, no pre-cooking required.
- Can be made days in advance.
- Mix ground pork and 2 teaspoons of the bbq rub and make into 4 equal sized oblong patties.
- With a chopstick make 3 indentations in the patties.
- ( 1 in the middle and then 1 on each side of center).
- Place on parchment paper on a baking tray and place in the freezer.
- Freeze 2 hours or longer (can be made days in advance).
- Set up your grill for Direct Heat.
- Place frozen patties on the grill and cook on the first side until the juices begin to collect on the top.
- Flip patties over and glazed with bbq sauce and continue cooking until well done.
- Remove from the grill and quickly toast the buns while the patties are cooling.
- Serve with sliced pickles and onions and extra bbq sauce.
