Oven Swiss Steak(Serves 4 To 6)

  1. Preheat oven to 325u0b0.
  2. Cut round steak into serving size pieces.
  3. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  4. Dredge in flour and pound to tenderize.
  5. Heat oil in a large skillet (ovenproof).
  6. Saute celery, carrots, bell pepper, onions and garlic until tender-crisp. Remove from skillet.
  7. Add tenderized steak pieces and brown well, a few pieces at a time.
  8. Return vegetables and all steak pieces to skillet.
  9. Mix basil, Kitchen Bouquet, water and tomatoes.
  10. Add to skillet.
  11. Cover and bake in preheated oven for 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until tender.
  12. Serve over hot rice or noodles.
  13. Add more salt, if needed.
