Sushi Hand Rolls
- 700 grams White rice
- 3 or 4 cm Kombu for dashi stock
- 40 ml Rice vinegar
- 45 grams Sugar
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1 your choice of fillings Fillings
- Cook the rice with the kombu.
- As soon as it's cooked... add the mixed ingredients, and mix with a cutting motion.
- Spread the rice into a thin layer, and cover with a damp cloth until cool.
- Chop up your choice of filling ingredients, then you're done!
- Additional point: Enjoy this Fuku-cha tea to go with it (also for good fortune).
- It's made by pouring hot water over umeboshi, salted kombu, and toasted soy beans.
- All of these ingredients are all symbolic for luck and are used in celebrations, such as Setsubun.
