Warty Witches' Hats

  1. Combine butter and chocolate chips in 2-quart saucepan; cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, 6-8 minutes or until melted and smooth.
  2. Remove from heat; set aside.
  3. Cool 30 minutes.
  4. Add sugar, eggs, vanilla and salt to chocolate mixture; stir until well mixed.
  5. Add flour; stir until well mixed.
  6. Cover; refrigerate 4 hours or overnight until firm.
  7. Heat oven to 325F.
  8. Place chopped peanuts into bowl.
  9. Shape rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into 1 1/4-inch balls.
  10. (Dust hands with powdered sugar, if necessary.)
  11. Roll balls in peanuts, pressing gently so they stick to dough.
  12. Place 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  13. Bake 11-13 minutes or until slightly firm to the touch.
  14. Immediately top each cookie with candy kiss; cool 1 minute.
  15. Remove to cooling racks.
  16. Gently push on tip of each candy kiss to create crooked appearance to witches hat.
  17. Cool completely.
