Apple Custard Meringue Recipe
- 6 ounce Sweet short crust pastry
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 2 c. stewed apple
- 1/2 pt egg custard
- 2 x egg whites
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1.
- Line a tart tin with the short pastry, prick with a fork and bake 350 F oven 15 min till set.
- 2.
- Mix apple, custard, and cinnamon and pour into the pastry shell.
- 3.
- Make a meringue by whisking egg whites and sugar till thick.
- 4.
- Pile meringue on top of apple, return to a warm oven to brown slightly.
