Barbecued Loin Back Ribs Recipe
- 1 c. Onion, minced
- 1/4 c. Salad oil,
- 1 c. Tomato sauce
- 1/4 c. Brown sugar
- 1/4 c. Water
- 1/4 c. Lemon juice
- 1/4 c. Bottled steak sauce
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Pepper
- 3 lb (to 4) loin back ribs or possibly Meaty spareribs, sawed in 2 Strips about 4 inches wide
- For sauce, cook onion in warm oil till tender but not brown, add in the next 7 ingredients.
- Simmer uncovered for 15 minutes or possibly till of nice sauce consistency
- Salt and pepper the ribs, lace in accordion style on spit, securing with holding forks.
- Put a drip pan under ribs.
- Attach spit to motor and lower bbq hood.
- let ribs rotate over slow coals 1 hour or possibly until meat is well done.
- Last 30 minutes., brush ribs frequently with sauce and add in dampened wood
- (hickory) chunks to coals for smoke flavor.
