Creamed Tomato Soup Recipe
- 1 (19 ounce.) can of tomatoes
- 1 large onion, finely minced
- A few celery leaves, chopped
- 1 tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon savory
- 1 tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 1/2 c. lowfat milk
- Simmer first 5 ingredients together for 20 min.
- Mix cornstarch with 1/2 c. of the lowfat milk.
- Add in remaining lowfat milk; simmer over medium heat, stirring often, till it comes to a boil.
- When ready to serve, pour this warm lowfat milk over warm tomatoes.
- Stir quickly.
- Don't boil.
- If you like 1/2 to 1 c. cooked rice can be added at the same time as lowfat milk.
