Smothered Broccoli In Red Wine Recipe

  1. Separate broccoli flowerets from stalk.
  2. Divide large ones.
  3. Peel dark green skin from stalks and cut in 1/4 inch thick strips.
  4. In large saute/fry pan, cover bottom with thin layer of onions.
  5. Over this spread layer of broccoli stalks, dot with Parmesan slivers.
  6. Sprinkle on a little salt if you like.
  7. Moisten with thin stream of extra virgin olive oil.
  8. Repeat above procedure till ingredients are used up.
  9. Save flowerettes for top layer.
  10. Add in red wine.
  11. Cover, cook 1 hour over medium low heat on top of stove, or possibly till all wine has evaporated.
  12. Don't stir.
  13. Serve promptly.
  14. Don't reheat.
