Diabetic Brownies
- 1/4 cup cocoa
- 1/4 cup butter
- shortening
- 1/4 cup applesauce
- 2 tbsp. liquid sweetener
- 2 tbsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs, beaten,
- substitute
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1-1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 cup nuts, chopped
- Sift cocoa, flour, salt and baking soda and mix well.
- Add vanilla, sweetener, eggs.
- Stir until well-blended and add the dry ingredients.
- Mix until well-blended, stir in chopped nuts, pour into a greased 8-inch square pan.
- Level batter smoothly.
- Bake at 325F for 20 minutes.
