Cherry Apple Cobbler Recipe
- 2 slices raisin bread, made into crumbs
- 2 teaspoon each granulated sugar and butter
- 1/8 teaspoon grnd cinnamon
- 20 lg. frzn pitted cherries (no sugar added)
- 2 sm. apples, cored, pared and sliced
- 1/4 c. water
- 1-inch piece cinnamon stick
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- In small bowl combine crumbs, 1 tsp.
- sugar, and the butter and grnd cinnamon; set aside.
- In small saucepan combine fruit, 3 Tbsp.
- water, and the cinnamon stick; cook over low heat for about 3 min.
- Combine remaining Tbsp.
- water with cornstarch, stirring to dissolve; add in to pan and cook, stirring constantly, till mix is thickened.
- Remove from heat and remove and throw away cinnamon stick; add in remaining tsp.
- sugar and stir to combine.
- Into each of four 6-oz custard c. spoon 1/4 of fruit mix; top each with 1/4 of crumb mix and bake at 400 degrees, till topping is browned, about 15 min.
- Serve hot.
- Makes 4 servings.
