Pigs in a Biscuit
- 1 can (16.3 Oz. Size, 8-count) Pillsbury Grands Biscuits
- 8 whole Breakfast Sausage Links, Cooked
- 3 Tablespoons Butter
- 3 Tablespoons All-purpose Flour
- 2 cups Milk
- 1/4 teaspoons Salt
- 1/4 teaspoons Black Pepper
- 1 pinch Cayenne Pepper
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
- Cut each biscuit round in half and lightly flatten with your fingers.
- Set 2 halves down on the counter so that opposite ends are touching.
- Place a cooked breakfast sausage in the middle.
- Starting with one half of the dough, wrap the end around the sausage, pinching the seams together underneath the sausage.
- Repeat going the opposite direction with the other half.
- Place your wrapped sausages on a lined baking sheet and bake at 375 degrees F for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
- For the gravy: In a medium-sized sauce pan, melt butter over medium heat and stir in flour.
- Cook flour for 1 minute and slowly begin to whisk in milk.
- Continue to stir until mixture comes to a boil and has thickened.
- If gravy is too thick, add a bit more milk until desired consistency is reached; gravy will thicken as it cools.
- Season with salt, pepper, and just a pinch of cayenne pepper, adding more salt or pepper to taste.
