Mike's EZ Pan Seared Spicy Wontons

  1. Mix everything together in the Wonton Meat section very well.
  2. Roll tight, quarter sized balls of meat and set to the side.
  3. This recipe should make 35 Wontons minimum.
  4. Grab a wonton wrapper and wet all sides with water on your finger.
  5. Place ball of meat in center of wonton.
  6. Create a triangle and seal the wrap around the meat leaving no air gaps or pockets.
  7. Then, fold in the left and right corner as though it's hugging itself.
  8. As you do, be sure to wet the folded areas that touch each other.
  9. Follow the two pictured steps below for the desired outcome.
  10. Place 1/2 oil and 1/2 broth or water to a pan and heat on high.
  11. Place 1/2 your Wontons in bubbling pan and steam them with a tight lid on for 3 minutes.
  12. Try not to peek but don't let them stick to the pan.
  13. Remove lid and continue to fry Wontons until broth dissipates.
  14. Then, fry your Wontons until they've slightly browned on one or both sides.
  15. Your decision.
  16. Repeat step for next batch.
  17. Authors Notes: You can pan fry these Wontons in 100% oil no broth-no steaming-just oil for a crispy, meaty version.
  18. You can also serve these over noodles with a side bowl of dipping sauce.
  19. Serve Wontons in a bowl garnished with fresh Cilantro, Chives and Sesame Seeds.
  20. A small side of ginger is appropriate as well.
  21. Also, serve Wontons with Soy Sauce and Garlic Chili Sauce on the side.
  22. Attached below is a delicious Asian dipping sauce recipe that goes great with these Wontons.
  23. Enjoy!
