Polynesian Spareribs

  1. Separate ribs in single pieces; remove all fat.
  2. Place in large baking pan and cover with the pineapple juice and juice from pineapple rings.
  3. Cover with foil and bake in center of slow oven at 325u0b0 for 1 1/2 hours.
  4. Remove from oven and empty off 3/4 of juice.
  5. Peel oranges and cut in 1/2-inch rings; slice bananas lengthwise.
  6. Then put layer of ribs and top with orange rings; cover with brown sugar.
  7. Layer ribs, pineapple and sugar.
  8. Then layer ribs, bananas and sugar, ending with ribs topped with sugar. Return to oven and bake on high (450u0b0) at top until the sugar melts and coats ribs with caramel.
