Favorite Pound Cake
- 1 c. butter (no substitutes)
- 1/2 c. vegetable shortening
- 3 c. sugar
- 6 eggs
- 3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. milk
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 tsp. lemon extract
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
- Grease and flour 10-inch tube or Bundt pan.
- Cream
- butter and shortening.
- Gradually add sugar until light and
- fluffy.tdd eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Combine flour and baking powder.
- Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk and extracts.
- Beat well after each addition.
- Pour
- into
- prepared pan and bake 1 1/2 hours or until cake tests done.
- Cool in pan 5 minutes before removing to rack to cool completely.
- Freezes well.
- Yields 16 servings.
