Torsiello Family Spaghetti Sauce
- 13 cup olive oil
- 1 onion, medium chopped
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon basil (fresh & chopped... or 1 teaspoon dried)
- 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped
- 1 12 teaspoons oregano (fresh & chopped... or 1/2 teaspoon dried)
- 2 (35 ounce) cansof italian peeled tomatoes (it is important that these be Italian grown tomatoes... look where they come from)
- 1 (8 ounce) can italian tomato paste (again important that these be imported from Italy)
- 1 12 teaspoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 pinch ground pepper
- 12 teaspoon thyme
- 2 bay leaves
- 6 Italian sausage (browned and cut in quarters)
- combine all ingredients into large stock pot.
- cook at a simmer for 12 hrs stiring frequently.
- serve over spaghetti or other pasta.
- great with garlic bread/toast.
