My Favorite Snack - Crisp Fruit Bake
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 c. rolled oats
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 Tbsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 c. (1 stick) Shedd's spread Country Crock, melted
- 4 c. sliced fresh or canned fruit (use a mix of apples, pitted cherries, peaches, pears and berries; drained)
- Heat oven to 350u0b0.
- In a medium bowl blend together flour, oats, sugar, cinnamon, salt, baking soda and baking powder.
- Stir in Shedd's spread.
- Using pastry blender or fingertips, work it like pastry to form a crumbly mixture.
- Spread half the mixture in an even layer over bottom of an 8-inch square pan.
- Do not press down on it.
- Spoon fruit over crust to form an even layer.
- Scatter remaining mixture evenly over top.
- Bake 35 to 40 minutes until lightly browned.
- Serve warm.
