Classic Pot Roast
- 1 whole Large Onion, Cut Into Large Pieces
- 2- 1/4 pounds Sirloin Roast
- 5 whole Carrots, Chopped
- 1 Tablespoon Liquid Smoke
- 1 Tablespoon Mesquite Seasoning (I Used Weber's)
- 4 cups Beef Broth
- 2 Tablespoons Red Wine
- 1 teaspoon Onion Salt
- 1 teaspoon Thyme Leaves
- 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
- Chop onion into large thick pieces and place along the bottom of slow cooker.
- Set roast on top of the onions and put carrots around it.
- Pour the liquid smoke on the roast and then sprinkle on the mesquite seasoning.
- Pour in the remaining ingredients and give it a good stir before placing the lid on and cranking the heat up on high.
- The roast will be falling apart in 8 hours.
- I suggest serving with a side of mashed potatoes and gravy.
- Dont forget to use that juice in the slow cooker in your gravy!
