Sour Cream Cookies

  1. Heat oven to 425 degrees (225 C.).
  2. Mix 1 cup (225 ml) sugar, the margarine, shortening, egg and vanilla.
  3. Stir in the remaining ingredients.
  4. Divide dough into 3 equal parts.
  5. Roll each part 1/4 inch thick on a lightly floured, cloth-covered board.
  6. Cut into desired shapes with 2-inch cookie cutter.
  7. Sprinkle with a little colored sugar.
  8. Place about 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
  9. Bake until no indentation remains when touched, 6 to 8 minutes.
