Pork Tsukune Patties with Lotus Root for Sports Day or Cherry Blossom Viewing
- 2 stalks Thin green onions
- 200 grams Ground pork
- 100 grams Lotus root
- 1 dash Salt and pepper
- 1 tbsp Katakuriko
- 3 Flower-shaped boiled carrot slices
- 2 tbsp Soy sauce
- 2 tbsp Mirin
- 1 White sesame seeds
- Chop the green onion into thin rounds and the lotus root into 5 mm cubes.
- Mix these well with the ground pork, season with salt and pepper and shape into small bite-size patties.
- Heat some vegetable oil in a frying pan and cook both sides of the patties.
- Drizzle over some soy sauce and mirin from above, mix in and finish with a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
- Pack these tsukune patties together with some flower-shaped carrot slices boiled in salt to create a lovely colourful lunchbox.
