Veggie Layered Salad
- 1 head lettuce, finely sliced
- 1/2 c. diced green pepper
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1/2 c. diced celery
- 1/2 pkg. frozen peas, broken apart or 1 can small peas, drained
- 1 can sliced water chestnuts, drained
- equal parts Miracle Whip and sour cream (about 1 c. each)
- 3 to 4 tsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
- bacon bits (optional)
- cherry tomatoes
- In a 9 x 13-inch pan, layer in order:
- lettuce, green pepper, chopped onion, celery, peas and water chestnuts.
- Cover with equal parts of Miracle Whip and sour cream, the sugar and Worcestershire sauce, sealing edges.
- Refrigerate overnight.
- When ready to serve, add grated Cheddar cheese and bacon bits (optional).
- Garnish with cherry tomatoes.
