Hamburger Casserole

  1. Put aside 1/3 of the grated cheese and 1 can tomato sauce for the top of the casserole.
  2. Cook macaroni as directed on package until barely tender.
  3. Drain and add butter.
  4. Stir and set aside. Saute onions in small amount of oil.
  5. Add beef, salt and pepper. Stir well or use potato masher.
  6. Cook only until red in beef is gone.
  7. Add 2/3 of the cheese to meat and stir until melted.
  8. Add 1 can tomato sauce and 1 can mushroom soup.
  9. Stir and mix with macaroni.
  10. Put in casserole Pyrex baking dish.
  11. Cover top with cheese and tomato sauce mixture.
  12. Bake at 325u0b0 for 30 to 45 minutes.
  13. Yields 12 servings.
