Melon & Ham Bites (Southern)

  1. Slice the watermelon into approximately 1 cubes.
  2. Fry the country ham in a skillet over medium high heat until completely cooked and browned around the edges.
  3. Cut the ham to fit the watermelon pieces and skewer onto cocktail picks or toothpicks if you misplaced your pretty ones like I did.
  4. In a sauce pan over medium heat, combine the balsamic vinegar with the sugar and cook until well blended.
  5. Then add the watermelon in thinly sliced pieces and cook until the pieces are nearly dissolved; if some pieces left are left undissolved, that is okay.
  6. Be careful not to scorch your vinaigrette.
  7. Thats it.
  8. Easy peasy.
  9. Wanna bite yall?
  10. Come on, dont be scared of the country ham.
  11. It wont bite ... but you should, its yummy!
  12. Now if you dont like balsamic vinaigrette, go ahead and eat these little babies plain.
  13. I do.
