Mom's BBQ Sauce
- 40 ounces ketchup (HEINZ)
- 34 cup white vinegar (recipe says 1/3 bottle)
- 34 cup vegetable oil
- 12 cup A.1. Original Sauce
- 12 cup Worcestershire sauce
- Tabasco sauce (7 shakes)
- 3 bay leaves (optional)
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 14 cup liquid smoke
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Combine all in saucepan.
- Simmer on LOW for 30 minutes.
- Refrigerate at least 3 hours (or overnight) before using.
- Add to meats on grill JUST before they're done.
- (We all know that the sugars in tomato-based sauces burn like a son-of-a-gun very easily.)
- Excellent on chicken, burgers, you name it.
