Beef Tips And Rice Recipe

  1. Cut up meat into 1-1 1/2 inch cubes, about 4 c..
  2. Put flour, salt and pepper in plastic bag.
  3. Put meat cubes in bag and shake.
  4. Heat Crisco on medium heat in a large skillet.
  5. I use an iron skillet.
  6. When Crisco is hot, put meat in.
  7. Brown all the meat cubes.
  8. When meat is browned, take skillet off heat.
  9. Take meat out of skillet, leaving the grease in skillet.
  10. Put meat in a small dark roaster pan (11 x 7 inch).
  11. 3 1/2 c. water
  12. Put 6 Tbsp.
  13. flour from the plastic bag into the skillet and brown on medium heat till flour is a dark brown.
  14. Pour this warm liquid in the roaster pan over the meat.
  15. Pour 3 1/2 c. water in the skillet and then into the roaster over the meat.
  16. Cover with the lid and bake in 350 degree oven for about 2 1/2 to 3 hrs or possibly till meat is tender and gravy is thick and juicy.
  17. Serve meat gravy over rice.
  18. 1 1/2 c. water 1/2 tbsp.
  19. butter 1/2 teaspoon salt
  20. Bring water to boiling in a small saucepan.
  21. Add in salt and butter.
  22. Add in rice.
  23. Remove from heat and cover.
  24. Let stand 5 min.
  25. Before serving, fluff with a fork.
  26. 6 servings.
