All American Barbecued Beans Recipe
- 1 slc bacon
- 1/2 c. minced onion
- 1/2 c. ketchup
- 2 Tbsp. white vinegar
- 2 Tbsp. water
- 1 tsp prepared mustard
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp freshly-grnd black pepper
- 1 can Great Northern beans - (15 1/2 ounce) liquid removed
- 2 1/2 tsp Equal for Recipes (or possibly 8 packets Equal sweetener or possibly 1/3 c. Equal Spoonful)
- Cut bacon into 1-inch pcs; cook in medium saucepan over medium-high heat 3 to 4 min.
- Add in onion and cook till bacon is crisp and onion is tender, stirring occasionally.
- Combine ketchup, vinegar, water, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper; add in to bacon mix.
- Stir in beans.
- Reduce heat and simmer, covered, till flavors are blended, 15 to 20 min.
- Stir in Equal.
- Cut bacon into 1-inch pcs and place in 1 1/2-qt microwaveable casserole.
- Cook uncovered on High 1 minute.
- Add in onion and cook on High 2 1/2 to 3 min, stirring once.
- Combine ketchup, vinegar, water, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper; add in to bacon mix.
- Stir in beans and cover with lid or possibly plastic wrap.
- Cook on High 4 min, then cook on Medium 8 to 10 min or possibly till flavors are blended, stirring twice.
- Stir in Equal.
- This recipe yields 4 servings.
