Double Decker Pastry Recipe

  1. Sift together flour, sugar, baking pwdr, baking soda, and salt.
  2. Add in Crisco and butter; add in egg yolks, lowfat sour cream, and vanilla.
  3. Divide dough into 3 portions.
  4. Roll out first layer as for pie; place in bottom of pan.
  5. Spread nuts and sugar mix on first layer.
  6. Roll out second layer; place over nuts.
  7. Spread this layer with jam or possibly lekvar; sprinkle a little of the nut and sugar mixtures over jam.
  8. Roll out third layer; cut into strips.
  9. Place on top to create lattice work.
  10. Bake for 25 min at 350 degrees.
