nectarine sliced cake

  1. preheat oven at 375 and bake at 375
  2. slice nectarines and pour orange juice in a bowl ,add the nectarines to orange juice and let soak for 1 hour.in refrigerator..for the topping, in a mixing bowl, add butter and beat with an electric mixer stand up mixer, until it's whipped and creamy, add brown sugar, maple syrup, vanilla extract,mix with mixer for two minutes, now set to side
  3. for cake in 10 inch springpan, spray with cooking spray lightly.
  4. sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
  5. cream shortening with electric mixer,add sugar gradually and cream together until light and fluffy.add eggs, one at a time, and beat well.add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk, a small amount at a time, beating after each addition until smooth.add vanilla extract.
  6. beat 30 seconds, set to side.
  7. take topping butter mix, spread in pan about 1/4 inch deep.take and drain nectarinesand layer ontop of butter mixture, now pour cake batter ontop of nectarine,ready to bake 35 to 40 minutes make sure cake is cooked through in the middle of cake, place cookie baking sheet on bottom rack.
  8. bake the cake ontop rack.
  9. place cookie sheet to catch liquid coming from Pan.
  10. when done baking, take out of oven let rest 30 minutes to cool ,before truning on cake dish.remove from pan, let cool completely.cut and serve.enjoy it.
