Ale, Porter or Stout Sangaree

  1. Put the sugar in a 12-ounce tumbler and add just enough water to dissolve it.
  2. Fill with well-chilled ale, porter or stout.
  3. No ice is used.
  4. Dust the top of the drink with a little nutmeg.
